The hands down winner is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Beautifully written. I can't wait to see the movie, which was released with limited distribution so I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD.

In bookstores
I've only read two of the books up there; both Zusak ones and I really felt like they had an effect on me, I really did leave the world while reading those books. I don't really want to see the movie of The Book Thief, though. I have to read Insurgent, Divergent was really good.
