Update on my book selling adventure

Friends and family,

I'd like to take the time to update you on how things are progressing with my book.

At the Chester County Balloon Festival

First, my upcoming schedule:

  • Saturday, July 28th I'll have the honor of making a special appearance at a community event seminar. The title of the seminar is: The ten things about your success you may not know.  It is being hosted by Tony Lucas -easily one of the greatest public speakers I've ever met.  Tony also happens to be a good friend. Tony has spent decades studying the human psyche and his thoughts on reaching goals are innovative and inspirational. If you or anyone you know believe they could benefit from attending a free, life-changing event, I've posted the details below as well as attached a flyer.  Please spread the word.  As I said, Tony has been kind enough to include me as a special guest where I will have the chance to briefly discuss my book and, more importantly, my goals beyond book sales: changing the lives of our youth through reading and writing. Please join us.

Where: The Easttown Library and Information Center
720 First Ave., Berwyn, PA, 19312-1769
When: July 28, 2012
Time: 1-3 pm

  •   On August 2nd and September 6th, I will be at Swingin' Summer Thursday in downtown West Chester once again, signing books from 6:30 to 9:30.

  • On August 25th I'll be at the PAYA festival in West Chester. PAYA is a coalition of Pennsylvania’s young adult authors, bloggers, librarians, readers, and other book-lovers. Their mission is two-fold:

1.To share the love we have for young adult literature with others in our state
2.To raise money to support Pennsylvania’s libraries, with a focus on helping build Young Adult library collections             and Young Adult services.

            The event website is HERE

I think that's enough events for the moment.  If you haven't picked up a copy of Exiled, it is now available as both an eBook and hard copy through numerous online sites such as Amazon and Barnes&Noble. If you have picked up a copy, I would greatly appreciate it if you take the time to write a review on the aforementioned websites along with Goodreads.com.  Customer reviews weigh heavily when potential readers consider purchasing a book.  I also post giveaway copies on Goodreads roughly once per month.  You could win yourself a free copy.

If anyone knows a teacher, book club or other group who would enjoy discussing the writing process, my book or virtually anything else, please let me know.  Word of mouth is the most powerful, cost effective marketing tool on the planet.

Oh, and if anyone has a contact in Hollywood, I'm open to the idea of optioning my book for a seven figure multi-film deal.

If you know any young writers, I host quarterly writing contests (short story usually). They are free to enter and the prizes are great. More details can be found on MY WEBSITE.

Finally, I must thank everyone for their continued support.  Becoming a successful author is a marathon, not a sprint.  It requires more work than I would have possibly imagined when I began this process.  Many people close to me have sacrificed so that I may put my every spare moment into running the marathon.  Most importantly, of course, is my wife, Lisa.  Without her support I'd be nowhere.  Thank you, my love.

and my final plug: Please don't hesitate to tell your friends, their kids, your kids and everyone in your social circle about my book.  Word of mouth is king!

Always,

Josh

As always, find interviews, writing samples, videos, contests and more on my website.
